Adding Balloons and Notes

Learn how to use Balloons and Notes to display information in your movie, choose fun styles and dynamic transitions to keep viewers interested.

In Design view you can add a balloon by clicking the Add a new balloon tool or by pressing (B) and clicking on the canvas where you want your balloon to be. When you select your balloon you will find editing options in the top panel.

You can change the balloon name here; click the drop-down next to your balloon name to change the balloon size, location and rotation. Under the custom tab edit the style of your balloon. Click on the hand icon to enable click to continue, this will pause automatically pause your movie when the balloon appears to give the viewer time to read its content. You can toggle the text-to-speech function so that the text in the bubble will be audio as well. Use the Angle icon to change the stem direction of your balloon. Finally, double-click on the balloon to change the text inside.

To add a note select the Add new note tool or press (N) and click on the canvas where you want your new note to be. When you select your note you will find editing options in the top panel.

You can change the note name here; click the drop-down next to your note name to change the note size, location and rotation. In the tab next to the title of the note you can change its style, the default is classic. You can also enable click to continue as well as convert the text to speech.

Double-click on the note to edit its text. In the timeline you can also edit the duration that your note is visible and change its transition in and out of your movie.
